The ringing in of 2010 marks the launch of “The Ray Charles 80th Birthday Celebration” with a series of events and projects planned to celebrate what would have been the music icon’s 80th birthday on September 23, 2010.
“The official re-launch of the www.raycharles.com website will start the celebration on January 8th and we plan on creating exciting events and announcements every month through September of 2011, making this a twenty month celebration”, stated Tony Gumina of The Ray Charles Marketing Group, the licensing arm for The Ray Charles Foundation.
“On the new website Ray Charles fans throughout the world will be able to learn more about Mr. Charles not only as a musical legend but as a worldwide icon of historical significance”, Gumina added.

I am very impressed with the article I have just read. I wish the author of raycharles.com can continue to provide so much useful information and unforgettable experience to raycharles.com readers. There is not much to say except the following universal truth: The highest compliment someone can give is to say you made them think. I will be back.
Ray Charles had a voice that demanded attention. Ray Charles did not have to say listen to me, but his music and voice made you get close to his music. His movement on the piano as he played and song with feelings just made one stand up and salute. And speaking of saluting, the song “America” allowed one to feel what he was singing. A person felt his voice of America in their heart and in their bones. It brought tears to ones eyes and chills to body. It made you feel that you were proud to be an american.
It was an honor to type this because it is so true.
WOW!!! What a cool website. I’ll be back here everyday.
Ray Charles is a very good person. There were those situations where there could have been a better choice made but look at all the people today that he has inspired. I think about my life all the time and how it could be just like his if I put my mind to it. NO NOT THE DRUG PART OF HIS LIFE!, but the way that people remember him. He had a dream that he wanted to fulfill but there were those road blocks that everyone has in everyday life. I look back at the life that I lived as a young child and I don’t want that life for me. I know that… I am 17 years old now and I watched his movie when I was eight. I thought that it was going to be dumb and it wasn’t going to have any meaning to it… but I got done watching it and as I sat there and thought about all the times that I only thought of the way that my life was going to be and how it couldn’t change anyone else’s. I focused on what I could do for myself and not that I could change it for the person sitting next to me. I started using drugs, not as heavily as Ray but I got off and it still taught me a big lesson and I will never forget all the things that I have gone through to get to the point that I am at today. Thanks RAY CHARLES! you really are an inspiration!
